Penelope is a 1-year-old, 11.5-pound Miniature Schnauzer with a big personality and an even bigger love for her people. She is house trained and happily goes outside, and while she tolerates the crate, she would much rather be near her humans soaking up attention. Penelope is truly a lapdog at heart and wants nothing more than to sit with you, be close to you, and follow you around like a little shadow.
This sweet girl is friendly, outgoing, and playful with the people she knows. She is excited to greet both men and women who visit her home and enjoys showing off her affectionate side. On walks, she may bark at dogs, squirrels, or other exciting distractions, but her daily 20–30 minute walks help burn off energy, and she also enjoys playing with toys, especially tiny squeaky ones.
Penelope is a smart cookie who already knows several commands including sit, no, up, down, and c’mon. She can be a little stubborn at times, but add a treat and suddenly she remembers exactly what you’re asking. She is very treat motivated and social, which makes her a great candidate to continue learning new things with positive reinforcement.
She is a loving, loyal companion who wants to be someone’s constant sidekick. With her sweet nature, intelligence, and desire to be close to her person, she is ready to settle into a home where she can be adored as much as she adores in return. Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.
She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
