Mabel walked in with a gentle spirit and a body that has clearly carried too many litters. She is currently in heat and her system is run down. An itchy raw patch on her skin turned out to be a staph infection. She is being treated, but it will take time and consistent care to get her fully healthy.
Once her skin has cleared and her hormones have settled, she will be spayed and finally able to close the door on that chapter of her life. Her adoption is already pending, but she needs to reach the finish line medically before she can head to her new home.
