Blue was born outside and rescued in June 2023 from the infamous Jenada Isle Colony you may have heard about. This colony was so renowned it was even the subject of HBO's "It's Florida, Man" episode 5: Bunnies - a Hare Too Many.
Despite the residents insistence that the rabbits were "doing just fine out there", all were extremely underweight and malnourished when first rescued by Penny & Wild: SOS FL.
Unfortunately Blue has suffered from the curse that is being a black rabbit looking for a new home and has been waiting for a forever home for more than 2 YEARS! We had hoped to find him a forever home before June 2025, which was his 2 year rescue-versary.
We estimate Blue is 3 years old, he is neutered and fully grown at a petite 3.5 pounds. Blue is a gentle soul who would thrive in a calm, quiet home without small children or other pets. Heād be an excellent match for someone experienced with reserved bunnies or with a confident ābunwifeā who can help him come out of his shell. The other bunnies rescued from this colony bonded easily to new friends!
