Keisha is a reserved but incredibly sweet and beautiful 8-yr-old Siberian Husky looking for her forever home. Her fosters have many great things to say about her! She gets along well with their 2 large dogs, one who is about her age and mellow, and one who is young, active and (unsuccessfully) tries to get her to play. Keisha is happy to coexist with them but hasn`t been interested in wrestling, though her previous owner said she enjoyed playing with another big dog in the home she was accustomed to. While Keisha has done well with chickens, cats, and Chihuahuas in the past, we believe she`d do best in a home with either other large dogs or no other pets at this stage of her life. Keisha can be shy when she first meets you, but once you gain her trust she is incredibly sweet. Her current fosters say she has done well loose in the house and in their bedroom at night and they haven`t experienced any destructiveness. She really enjoys walks and would do well in a home where there is a yard to run in and/or humans who can provide her with plenty of adventures. While she can take a little longer getting comfortable around men, she tends to be avoidant and shy rather than showing any type of aggression, and with patience and love would likely do well around men, women and respectful children. She`s been warming up to fosters during the 2 weeks they`ve had her. She accepts pets and handling, is wonderful on leash, knows how to heel, and is house trained. She`s calm, shy, and docile (`with our dogs at least`), doesn`t seem to be reactive at all. If you`re looking for a companion who will smother you with kisses and be your cuddle buddy from Day 1, Keisha is NOT your match--but, if you`re interested in having a gentle, loving, yet independent friend who enjoys both adventures and napping on your armchair, she could be your gal.
