My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Gondola, a 1-year-old Dachshund Mix who weighs 17.8 pounds. It’s no surprise that Wish Bone's staff and volunteers are completely smitten with this handsome guy—Gondola wins hearts wherever he goes.

Gondola is making great progress with house-training and does not use a crate in his foster home. At night, he happily snoozes wherever he finds a comfy spot. He enjoys short walks, playtime with his canine foster siblings, and plenty of cuddle sessions.

He does well with other dogs and is cat-tolerant and shows little interest in his foster cat. While Gondola hasn’t spent time around children, his friendly, gentle, and adaptable personality suggests he’d likely do well with them.

Gondola’s favorite things include chewing on a good bone, going for car rides, and soaking up affection from his people.

Gondola's foster family describes him as a total love-bug who wants to cuddle with everyone in the house—humans and dogs alike! He was initially timid when putting on his martingale collar or harness, but now he gets excited because he knows it means outside time. He loves walks and has already learned “sit." With a bit of basic training and continued leash work, he’ll really shine.

If you’re looking for a sweet, affectionate companion who’s ready to learn and loves being close to his people, Gondola might just be your perfect match. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
