What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Ava a wonderful 4-year-old Chinese Shar Pei mix (unsure of her other breed). We took her in from my sister-in-law who was moving. She is fully house-trained and lets you know when she needs to go outside. Ava is friendly, happy, and loves naps, belly rubs, and treats. She is shy and fearful around strangers and needs time to build trust, but she has made great progress and is now much more open to people. She is not aggressive toward people at all. Ava has limited experience with other dogs and animals; when introduced to dogs she may growl, especially if she feels attention is being taken from her owner, but she listens when corrected. She does not bark at people or dogs. Ava thrives on routine and needs a home where someone is around most of the time. When left alone, she gets into things. We have tried multiple crates, kennels, and containment methods, but she has escaped them using her head, and we worry about her injuring herself. She needs freedom with supervision and structure.
