My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet Patton is a handsome young-adult hound mix with a loving temperament and a gentle demeanor-- a perfect pup looking for his perfect family!

While Patton's background is a mystery, and he has some scarring on his ears and skin from his time as a stray, whatever he's been through has not broken his resilient spirit and friendly personality. Patton will greet you with a wagging tail and happy wiggle before nuzzling into you for pets, and he'll snooze happily on your lap while you relax. Although he loves his couch-potato time, Patton also has a puppy's love of toys! He enjoys playing fetch and tug-of-war, and will also happily toss around his squeaky toys for independent play time.

This good boy is a people-lover first and foremost, but he also enjoys spending time with other dogs. In his foster home he is gentle and respectful of his two foster siblings, and at HES he had several regular playgroup friends. He has a laid-back play style and can adapt easily to his friends' demeanors. A canine companion might help him gain confidence in his forever home, but he would also be happy as the only dog. While we don't know for sure how he'd live with cats, his temperament suggests that he might do well with them, too.

Patton has spent some time in a foster home, where he got to indulge his couch-potato nature (balanced with some regular play time with his toys and in the yard), and enjoyed the company of his foster siblings, two smaller senior dogs. He is very ready to find his forever home now, and he can't wait to meet you!
