Their adoption process
Before you apply, confirm the following to ensure a smooth application review process:
-Residency: Applicants must be residents of Connecticut.
-Age: Applicants must be 21 years of age or older.
-Landlord Approval: If renting, confirm that your rental agreement allows for cats. Provide landlord contact information for verification if applicable.
-Kittens: Kittens must be adopted in pairs or be adopted to a house with another cat.
If you are interested in adopting, please complete our adoption application at tailsct.org/adopt. We may not respond to inquiries through Adopt-a-Pet in a timely manner, but will respond to applications as soon as possible. If a cat is listed, they are still available.

Adoption steps

- Approve ApplicationOnce you are approved an adoption counselor will advise you on available cats and make arrangements for you to meet them.
- Meet the PetCats can be meet either at their foster homes or at one of our adoption events.
