My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Van is such a special guy! He recently overcame a painful ear hematoma as well as having several rotten teeth extracted. Through it all, Van remained curious, affectionate and lovable. Hell always happily accept love and attention, but is also content hanging out by himself. He has many quirks, but one that really stands out is his permanent upper lip curl that gives him a very funny expression. Van would do well in a home on the calmer side, so his true personality can shine! Meet Van today!

Start by filling out the adoption application on our website. Once we approve it, you can meet the animal and if everything is a good fit, you will complete the contract, pay and take the animal home! We are always here to support you after the adoption with any questions or concerns.

Go meet their pets

We hold dog adoption events every Saturday from 10am to 12:30pm at the Grand Junction Chow Down or special locations for dogs and puppies. Cats and kittens can be seen by appointment or at special events. Please check our calendar for upcoming events. https://grandrivershumane.com/event-calendar/

All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services. We are a foster based humane society and do not have a physical location.

Our mission is to reduce the number of homeless pets through adoption events & area locations and provide medical care for shelter pets in need. All of our adoptable pets come from Mesa County Animal Services.

Grand Rivers Humane is a non-profit 501(c)(3) established in 2005. Since then, we have found homes for over 10,000 pets. Your donations are greatly appreciated.
