This sweet boy approached a stranger out in the cold, clearly in need of help. The weather was freezing and Patricks neck was visibly swollen. We rushed him to the vet, where it was discovered that he had an infected puncture wound on his throat from a cat fight, making it painful and difficult for him to swallow. The wound was cleaned, he received treatment, and Patrick made a wonderful recovery.
As it turns out, Patrick is much more lover than fighter and took to the indoor life quite well. We also got him neutered and vaccinated. Unfortunately, testing also revealed that he is FIV-positive. While this means he is immunocompromised, FIV cats can still live long, happy lives. Patrick would need to be either the only cat in the home (which he would love) or placed with other FIV-positive cats.
Patrick has truly embraced the comforts of home. He uses the litter box like a pro and is currently doing well with the dogs in his foster home. Do you think you could give this wonderful boy the chance he so deeply deserves?
