If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Jack is a one-year-old male neutered heeler, located in Henrietta, TX. He’s up to date on vaccinations, housebroken, and in great health. While he knows basic commands, Jack can be quite rebellious and has a tendency to bite on his leash when his patience wears thin. We’re working on setting boundaries to keep him from chasing cats or getting to the chickens, as he’s had incidents of stealing eggs and harming one. Although he protests when kenneled—barking and growling—he’s making progress with our trainer. Jack is energetic and needs supervision, as he’s occasionally chewed on household items and loves making a mess with pecans. An experienced owner would suit him best. He enjoys tug-of-war and belly rubs, is friendly with other dogs, and generally with people, though he hasn’t been around kids. I’m looking to rehome Jack due to my sister no longer claiming ownership and my time constraints, I’ve struggled to manage him alongside my own pets.
