Vera Aloe? No, Aloe ALWAYS gets to go first. We’re twins, nearly identical, people say, in our personalities as well as our looks. We’ve overcome a lot after a tough start in our home. We are among six kittens who went to a rescue facility because the children in our home were too young to understand how to treat us safely and gently. Now, we’ve all been transferred to Paws and Claws so we can find our forever homes. Aloe and I would love to stay together. Aloe Vera. Of course! It only makes sense! The rescue people said this about us: “both playful climbers who bounce around with endless energy.” They said much more about our group: “They are special kittens looking for care, each with their own special unique charm… They are socially sensitive and may need time to adjust, especially around children due to their difficult start. With patience and care, they are sure to blossom into wonderful companions. Each of these kittens has a gentle, friendly nature, tolerates handling, and is learning to recover from stress at their own pace.” Aloe and I are good company for each other and having each other for a playmate would help us each adjust to a new home. The rescue person also wrote that we are all looking for homes where we “can continue to grow, play, and discover the joy of family life.” The aloe vera plant symbolizes healing, strength, and resilience. What could be more purr-fect! Aloe and Vera would both love to be your boys.

Paws and Claws Humane Society (PCHS) is a non-profit, mostly volunteer organization that rescues and shelters homeless cats and dogs until they can be adopted into their “forever” homes. We want our clients to understand that adopting and animal is a lifetime responsibility and commitment to that animal.
All prospective adopters must show (at the time of adoption) a valid drivers license or other acceptable identification to verify their name, address, and age. Adopters must be 18 yrs of age. Children under the age of 12 years old need to be present at time of viewing shelter cats or dogs.
After submitting an application, there is generally a processing period of 1-3 days in order to complete all pre-adoption checks and paperwork before an adopter may take possession of the animal.

Paws and Claws Humane Society is committed to partnering with the community to shelter, protect, and seek adoptive homes for abandoned or lost companion animals.
We have served Southern Minnesota for over 30 years and we are the largest shelter in the 8 surrounding counties that does not limit the length of stay for the animals in its care.
Paws & Claws is funded completely on donations and fundraising events and receives no federal, state, county or city funds.We currently have nearly 900 dues paying members.
Paws & Claws has a community fund to help pay for the spaying and neutering of companion animals for those who cannot afford it.
We give over 40 tours and presentations annually, educating the public [including over 400 children] about proper animal care and the importance of spaying and neutering companion animals to help control the pet population in Southern Minnesota.
We have over 110 families that participate in the Guardian Angel Program [sponsoring animals] each month.
Paws & Claws will take in an injured animal and get the emergency medical care that it requires.
Local veterinarians in and around Rochester help Paws & Claws by providing over 145 free spay or neuters each year.
In a typical year the shelter will facilitate adoptions and provide care for over 600 dogs and cats.
