My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Cliff
Age: 12 months
Gender: Male
Weight: ~16 kg / 30 lbs
Breed: Mixed breed
Color: White wire-hair

Health & Wellness

  • Neutered: Yes

  • Vaccinated: Yes

  • Heartworm: Negative

Personality & Behavior

  • Good with dogs: Yes

  • Resource guarding: No

  • Good with cats: No

  • Good with kids: Yes — preferably older kids, as he’s agile and energetic

  • Bark level: Alert

  • Shedding: Low; regular brushing recommended

  • Energy level: Medium–high (typical young dog energy)

Training & Adaptability

  • Leash-trained: Yes; may hesitate with automatic/electric doors

  • Potty-trained: In progress. Like most dogs entering a new environment, he’ll need consistency and a proper routine.

  • Crate-trained: Yes for travel; not used to being crated in a home environment

  • Where he stays when alone: Cliff has always lived with other dogs and is currently in an open daycare-style environment. He has never been left alone in a home.

    • Note: If transitioning to a home as the only dog, please avoid leaving him alone for long periods. A 4–6 hour window is ideal while he adjusts and learns to feel safe.

  • Sleeping arrangements: Sleeps in a shared kennel area with other dogs.

Temperament

Cliff is more than a beautiful slim dog with a striking white coat—he’s a joyful, resilient spirit. Gentle, playful, and full of heart, Cliff forms trusting bonds easily. He still carries the spark and curiosity of a puppy while being at a perfect age to grow, learn, and thrive. Agile, affectionate, and eager to be part of a team, Cliff will shine in a home that values both activity and companionship.

Ideal Home

Cliff will thrive with:

  • An active person or family

  • A home that understands the needs of a young dog: patience, consistency, engagement, and love
He’s ready to join in on family activities—playing with kids and dogs, going for daily walks, hitting local trails, and exploring the world together.

Rescue Story

Cliff was abandoned as a tiny 3-month-old puppy at a vet school in Guadalajara, Mexico. A rescue program stepped in to save him and his siblings (Hershey and Sandy), giving them the chance they deserved. He was then welcomed into a foster program run by dedicated veterinary students who provided the care and structure needed for him to grow strong and adoptable.

Due to the overwhelming number of animals in need, Cliff and his siblings were entrusted to Northwest Wag Rescue’s partners in Guadalajara to help them find their forever homes. His sibling Sandy, is also available for adoption.
