Sophie is a sweet, well-mannered girl who enjoys getting out for walks and spending time with her handler. She politely offers her head for the leash, walks well, sits when asked, and takes treats gently. Sophie previously lived with other dogs, but at the shelter she has shown a preference for focusing on her people rather than engaging with new dog friends. We would recommend a meet and greet at CCAS if you have other dogs as she may be best as the only dog in the home. She also shows strong interest in cats, so a cat-free home is recommended. Sophie is estimated to be 2–6 years old and weighs 50 lbs. She is looking for a calm, consistent home where she can enjoy companionship and routine. Take the Pet Home
Adopt and the pet is legally yours! Or choose to "slumber party" which is a trial adoption. You will have up to two weeks to decide.

Pay Fee
The adoption fee is $60 for a dog and $35 for a cat. Those living within Citrus County, FL. will also purchase a $10 county license fee.

All pets are spayed/neutered, current on age and species appropriate vaccinations and flea and heartworm prevention. Kittens under 6 months of age are tested for Feline Leukemia (FeLV), and Cats over 6months of age are tested for FeLV and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV). Dogs over 6 months of age are tested for heartworm disease. If the dog is heartworm positive, the treatment will be provided by our Veterinarian, at no cost to the adopter, sponsored by our generous community partner Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection (CCFAP).
