My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bailey!
Bailey is a 5.5-year-old pitty mix who is ready to find her forever home. She has shown herself to be very dog-friendly and does wonderfully interacting with other dogs, making her a great candidate for a home with canine companions.

Bailey truly loves people and seems to especially enjoy the company of adults and older children. She does well on leash but would benefit from some continued practice and guidance, which will help her build even more confidence and polish her walking skills. While her history with cats is still unknown, Bailey has proven to be polite, adaptable, and affectionate.

Bailey is fully vetted — she is spayed, up to date on all vaccinations, heartworm negative, and microchipped. If you’re looking for a sweet, social dog who enjoys human connection, does well with other dogs, and would thrive in an adult or older-children home, Bailey may be your perfect match.

If you would like to meet Bailey, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive.

**Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth.
Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

More about this shelter

We are a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter comprised mostly of volunteers. We take in cats and dogs from local shelters and the public who can no longer care for their pets. Each of the volunteers at FMAR has a tremendous amount of love for animals and simply wants to do what they can to ensure that as many animals as possible find a forever home. Until then, each animal has a home at FMAR indefinitely.
