My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

A bit about Liesel:
- unknown history with kids; all interactions should be supervised
- unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions required
- unknown history with dogs; okay pending successful introduction

Meet Liesel! A pup so cute the photos don`t do her justice! Liesel is energetic, friendly and always happiest when she`s with her people! Liesel loves exploring the world and meeting new people, and she can`t wait to find the forever home that can help her do just that! Liesel likely received little training before coming to CHS, but she`s working hard to master skills like housetraining, walking nicely on leash, and settling on her own. She`s loving, playful and eager to please, so with a little patience we think Liesel will be well on her way to being the perfect companion for all your adventures! Visit her in person to see how amazing she is!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
