I am an interesting case, I would prefer a home with no other dogs where I get all the love as my life has been hard. My age is a big ???. I could be anywhere from 7 and up. My breed also is a mystery, but I definitely have the beautiful coat you “need” in your life!
I have a very sad story, so I am ready for my happily ever after with YOU. You see, I lived on a farm with my elderly owner for most of my life, and the last few years as he fought dementia, he didn’t take very good care of me. His grandson is friends with my foster mom, and when my original owner passed away, she agreed to help her friend, so she asked LAGR to accept me into rescue. Thankfully, they agreed, and I have been with my foster mom since February.2025
My foster mom is nice, and she loves me, but she has a bunch of beagle brats and a basset hound at her house (with whom I get along), but she would love to see me get my fur ever home and open up space for another foster needing help like I did! She has helped me learn manners, to go potty only outside, and to be nice with other dogs.
She just recently took me to the groomer, and now I am more handsome than ever! I mean, just look at me! I’m not perfect—-I have aches in my knee and hip, which doesn’t slow me down.
I just know I can be the goodest boy for you if you’ll give me a chance. Please adopt me and let me live my mu future years with my own family!

We have an adoption application on our web page which starts our adoption process, we do home visits, vet checks and reference checks. We require a fenced yard and do not adopt to familes with children under 6. Our adoption donation is $300.00, we have an adoption contract which is completed at the time of adoption.

We are a small Golden Retriever Rescue, we were formed in 2001 and have adopted over 1100 Goldens to loving homes.
Our love of Golden and Golden Mixes is our driving force and have a group of dedicated volunteers, we are an all volunteer organization.
Our dogs are placed in foster homes prior to adoption so we get to know them well
