Bamboo was surrendered to us because his family could no longer meet his medical needs. This calm, affectionate senior cat is now part of our humanitarian adoption program, as he is diabetic and requires regular care and a stable environment. Shelter life is difficult for him, and Bamboo would greatly benefit from a peaceful, loving home where he can finally relax.
Bamboo is incredibly sweet and deserves so much love in his golden years. He adores human touch and he’ll roll onto his back to show his belly, asking for more caresses with endearing sincerity. You can give him little kisses on his forehead, and he’ll “kiss” you back with his soft, loving eyes. He enjoys being held, and will gently wiggle away only to come back for more affection.
This tender senior has a bright, loving personality that will truly shine in a comfortable and caring home. With patience, gentleness, and attentive care, Bamboo will reward you with a soothing, deeply affectionate presence.
Bamboo deserves a calm, warm, and loving home where he can spend his beautiful senior years in comfort and serenity.

More about this shelter
Founded in Montreal in 1869, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (now known simply as the Montreal SPCA) was the first animal-welfare organization in Canada. It is not known under whose influence the society was formed, but its history acknowledges assistance from animal-welfare societies in France, England and the United States. In its early years, the SPCA concentrated primarily on improving the treatment of work horses, which were used all across the island of Montreal. The SPCA later began working on additional issues, such as humane dog control, cock-fighting and the killing of wild birds. The SPCA has come a long way since its beginnings: today, it is the largest animal-protection organization in Quebec, speaking on behalf of animals wherever there is ignorance, cruelty, exploitation or neglect.
