My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Flint is a big-hearted hound mix who’s all about love and giving hugs! Like his siblings Sasha and Flapjack, Flint came from a home full of dogs and has kept that social, playful spirit. He especially enjoys romping around in the runs with his brother, Flapjack, and they love to wrestle. In playgroups, he was a little scared of other dogs at first, but he did end up opening up. A meet-and-greet with all humans and furry friends is required to make sure it’s a perfect match. He has not had the opportunity to meet with a cat, but if he is anything like his sister Sasha, he may also think that they are fun toys to play with.

While not quite as vocal as his brother, Flint still has plenty to say and will happily chat with you in his own way. Due to this, he would do best in a home without shared walls. He’s playful and energetic, but what he really loves is when someone sits down and gives him some good, old-fashioned pets. He`ll even pet you back! Flint would do best in a home where he gets both playtime and plenty of affection. We believe that Flint was kept outside in most of his past life, so he will need some assistance with his house manners, basic skills, as well as needing some durable chew toys. Stuffies are no match for him! Like most hounds, Flint loves to follow his nose for new scents and will pull on the leash if he smells something good. We are working on his leash skills, but he will need to continue his training once in his new home.

If you would like to know more information about him, feel free to use the `Contact Us` page or call to ask more or fill out an adoption application on our website. Information about Flint may change as we get to know him better.

More about this rescue

AHeinz57 Pet Rescue & Transport, Inc. is a 501(c)3, non-profit animal welfare organization based in Adel, Iowa. In addition to caring for our local strays, we are working to bridge the gap between traditional animal shelters and no-kill rescues in 2 different ways: 1) By providing free transportation for dogs and cats from traditional shelters to no-kill rescues all over the Midwest and Canada. We also provide overnight rest stops for our furry travelers and temporary housing for those whose time has run out at the shelters, but have to wait for a foster spot to open up in one of the rescues; 2) By pulling as many dogs out of traditional shelters that are on death row and placing them in foster homes and forever homes thru our organization.
