My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mittens, a 2-3-year-old, 6.5-pound mama cat with sweet white paws and an even sweeter heart. This affectionate domestic shorthair girl has been through more than most—she was once an outdoor stray and had multiple litters before finally finding safety. After a tragic earlier litter, Mittens was taken in the very day she gave birth to her most recent kittens, where she could finally raise them safely and with love. Despite her past, Mittens is incredibly trusting and gentle. She is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped, and fully up to date on all of her medical care. Mittens is an extremely social, loving girl who does well around new people and enjoys being part of the action. She’s affectionate, playful, and loves to run to her scratching post when she gets excited. She does well with other cats and with older children; her behavior around younger kids has not yet been tested. As a devoted mama, Mittens can be a bit protective of her kittens when meeting new people—especially if adopted alongside one of them—but with slow, respectful introductions, she settles in beautifully and is soon happy and relaxed. Mittens is litterbox-trained and has excellent house manners. She is a wonderfully appreciative cat who notices kindness and care—when you clean her litter box, refresh her space, bring her something new, or feed her, she makes sure to say thank you with gentle headbutts against your legs and loud, content purrs while you work. Her ideal home would be one where she’s treated like the cherished companion she is, with affection and plenty of interaction. Mittens is a resilient, loving, and deeply grateful soul who gives back every bit of care she receives. With her affectionate nature, playful energy, and loving heart, she’s ready to be someone’s treasured companion.
