Haven would thrive in a calm, understanding home where she can move at her own pace and be given the time she needs to feel secure. She’s the kind of dog who doesn’t rush, she listens, watches, and learns to trust, and when she does, she offers devotion with all of her heart! IN-SHELTER NOTES & IDEAL HOME
SIZE: 42 lbs.
HOME TYPE: House or Townhouse- Haven can be nervous and sound sensitive and would do best in a home without shared walls or entryways.
CHILDREN: Yes- Older children who have large dog experience potentially compatible.
CATS & SMALL ANIMALS: Yes- Cats potentially compatible with slow proper introduction.
OTHER DOGS: Yes- Dogs potentially compatible.
ACTIVITY/ENERGY LEVEL: High; will need a lot of daily exercise, enrichment and mental stimulation.
HUMAN COMPATIBILTY: First time dog owner possible.
TRAINING REQUIREMENTS/NEEDS: At least three in-person training sessions to work on socialization, basic training, manners and sound desensitization.
HUMAN SOCIAL IN SHELTER: Very human social once comfortable.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Loves playing with toys once she is feeling comfortable.

If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live.
