My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Scout is a precious Border Collie mix who lost his leg in a previous accident in his previous home. He is a fully healed tripawd and having one less leg does not slow him down! He is as active, energetic and playful as any other Collie! His temperament is friendly and affectionate. He has an active curiosity in other dogs and would most likely love a playmate. Hes a great medium sized dog who would do well with any family as long as they will exercise and play with him and show him love. Although Scout only has 3 legs, as a Border Collie, he is still going to need an active family! He would be a great walking or hiking companion. Tripawds can usually live their lives just like any other dog on four paws as long as they stay lean and fit! As they age, we recommend putting them on a joint glucosamine supplement so that their joints are well supported as they grow into their golden years.   **If you have any questions about owning a very active tripawd border collie, feel free to ask to speak with our Director Amy :) Her senior border collie has thrived as a tripawd for most of her life and is now over 13 years old! We are happy to inform and support you as you make this decision to bring a special needs pup into your life! We do not see Adopt-a-Pet inquiries! Please visit our website www.grandrivershumane.org to fill out an adoption application and learn more about our upcoming adoption event locations.
