Jango is a 5½-year-old male cat who has endured far more than any animal ever should—and yet, somehow, he has emerged with an incredible capacity for love. He originally came to EASEL as one of eight kittens and was adopted as a baby. For years, he was someone’s pet… until just over a year ago, when Jango was heartbreakingly abandoned at our front door, left in a carrier and suffering from severe eosinophilic granulomas caused by untreated allergies. His condition was painful and distressing, and while the images are too graphic to share, it was clear he had been suffering for a very long time. Since that day, Jango has spent an entire year in a foster home healing—both physically and emotionally. With consistent care, patience, and love, his body has finally stabilized. He does have some scar tissue where the granulomas were most severe, but his fur has fully grown back, and he is now comfortable, healthy, and ready to move forward. Because his condition is allergy-related, Jango’s ideal home would be one without other animals since minimizing exposure is essential for his continued comfort. And now—after everything he’s been through—Jango’s personality is nothing short of extraordinary. Despite the neglect and pain he once endured, Jango is deeply loving, affectionate, and trusting. He happily flops over for belly rubs, curls up in your lap whenever he can, and soaks up affection like he’s making up for lost time. He loves to play, gently nudges or meows when he wants attention, and hasn’t met a person he doesn’t adore. He enters new environments with confidence and ease, as if he’s ready to believe in the world again. Jango is not just a survivor—he is a reminder of how resilient and forgiving animals can be. He has so many beautiful years ahead of him, and we are desperately hoping to find the right home—one that will cherish him, protect him, and never let him feel disposable again.
