Hi there… my name is Penelope!
I’m a beautiful calico lady with soft white fur covered in lovely orange and black spots, and I’m a senior girl looking for someone special to share my golden years with. I may be older, but my heart is full and ready for love.
My story didn’t start out easy. I spent a couple of years living behind a Chinese restaurant, and when I came to the sanctuary, I was feral and very unsure about people. To be honest… I did not like them at first. It took many years of time, patience, love, and food (especially food) to earn my trust. Lickable treats helped a lot, lots, and lots of them! Eventually, I learned that hands can be kind and that being petted actually feels pretty wonderful.
Because of my past, my future family needs to understand that I will hide at first. Moving into a new home is scary, and I’ll need time to feel safe. But once I do? I am incredibly sweet. I love being petted, sitting next to you, and soaking up all the love you’re willing to give. I’m known for striking a cute pose with my little paw held up, it’s kind of my signature move.
I am considered a special needs kitty. I have a condition called stomatitis, where my body attacks my teeth and gums. I’ve had all of my teeth removed (don’t worry, I eat like a champ, even dry food!), and I take steroids to keep me comfortable and pain-free. My medication will need to continue for the rest of my life, and it’s very important for my well-being. In return, I promise to be worth every bit of care.
I love lickable treats and will happily ask visitors for them. I also enjoy being brushed and need a little extra help so my fur doesn’t get mats on my back. I adore other cats and love snuggling with them, especially on cozy blankets.
I have a face you will absolutely fall in love with, trust me. I’m gentle, loving, and ready to spend my days being cherished the way I deserve.
You can come meet me any day between 1–5pm, even on holidays. Maybe you’re the person I’ve been waiting for all these years.
I have excellent litter box habits. My new perfect family NEEDS to understand that it WILL take me a while to adjust at first and I WILL hide as I settle in. Give me time, patience, and use food as a tool to get me out of my shell — I really am a wonderful cat.
I am fully vetted: spayed, microchipped, FIV & FeLV negative, and up-to-date on all my vaccinations. I require an indoor-only home and, as with all cats — absolutely no declawing.

Their adoption process
Additional adoption info
Our goal is to be a sanctuary for cats who are not adoptable and to find loving homes for those who are. We welcome you to visit our sanctuary to snuggle with our furballs. You may even end up going home with one...or two!!!
You always need to remember our cats come with baggage. Lots of them were treated badly by people and it has taken time for them to trust us. They may need to come out of their shells once you adopt them. You need to give them time to see you are not going to hurt them. We love our Furballs and want good homes for all of them. Please remember it is all about the cats for us.
We only adopt out our Furballs to people within 2-3 hours of our sanctuary because of the baggage they come with. This does not include some of the cats in foster care (contact their foster parents for more information).
