These tiny pups were surrendered to the shelter weighing just barely 1½ pounds each. They were suffering from a severe case of demodectic mange, with itchy, yeasty skin, bumps, and significant hair loss. Despite the neglect they experienced early on, they are happy, sweet-natured little babies with so much love to give.

After just one week of treatment, they’re already looking and feeling so much better, and we can’t wait to see them once their coats are fully grown back in. They love their overflowing toy basket and soak up every moment of warm sunshine on their skin.

We named this adorable crew after tennis shoe brands—meet Wilson, Puma, Hoka, Saucony, and Brooks! 👟🐾 For anyone wondering, demodectic mange is NOT contagious to other animals. These little ones should be ready to head to their forever homes in another week or so, and we know they’re going to make incredible companions. Based on their size and looks, we are guessing they are Chihuahua/Terrier mixes. We expect their coats to be a medium terrier length. They will remain small breed when full grown (around 8 – 12 lbs).
