My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ten-hut! My name is Sergeant Pepper!
If you are looking for the most gentle and loving companion I am your boy, full stop! I am very easy going and love human companionship. When I am not napping I like to follow my foster mom around to see what she is up to and get some lovin' along the way. When I am snoozing I do like to be on the couch near the humans or in a tower soaking up the sun.

Although I am an adult, I am not sure how old I am. The rescue estimated me to be about 3 years old. When someone came to rescue me from the outside world I didn't need any bait - I just walked right up and let them pick me up. As I mentioned, I am a very easy going guy!

One very important thing you need to know about me is that I must be on a special diet for the rest of my life. After dealing with some urinary issues the doc told me I need to be on a urinary specific prescription food (Hills Urinary Care c/d). Wet and dry but wet is a must. I am happy to eat my food though! Regular yearly exams will be important to make sure I am still looking all good on the inside. Don't worry, I don't mind the carrier, I don't make a peep on the car ride and I am super nice to the vet staff. Cool as a cucumber.

Now for the fun stuff! I LOVE to play. String/wand toys, springs or any small, wadded up piece of paper I will gladly enjoy chasing around the house. Window perching is a fan favorite to view what is going on outside. When I want to relax I especially like making biscuits on something soft.

Although I do get along with other cats - who I ignore for the most part, I would probably do best in a home with no other pets (including dogs) to keep any anxiety at bay and as I shouldn't be eating other food or maybe one older cat who wants to do their own thing. If that is the case individual feeders should be available to keep food separate. My foster mom has a great and easy system in place if you have any questions about that.

I hope you give me a chance to show you all the love I have to give and what a warm and sweet addition I can bring to your life!

More about this rescue

🐾 Our Mission at Billy the Kidden Rescue 🐾

Billy the Kidden Rescue is a VDACS-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, founded in 2014 and supported by a network of over 60 active foster homes across Hampton Roads.

Our mission is to improve the lives of displaced cats and reduce the feral cat population in our community by socializing outdoor-born and feral kittens—transforming them into loving, adoptable pets and placing them in safe, forever homes.

💙 Our Heart is in TNR
We are proud advocates of TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return)—the humane, effective method of managing community cats. Through this program, feral cats are:

✔️ Trapped
✔️ Neutered or Spayed
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Ear-Tipped (as a universal sign they've been fixed)
✔️ Returned to live safely in their outdoor colonies without contributing to overpopulation.

We are actively working to promote legal and social acceptance of TNR in Hampton Roads.

🐱 Feral Kitten Socialization
Our feral kitten socialization program is one of a kind—with a 90% success rate in helping feral-born kittens become affectionate, in-home pets. Through experienced fostering, patience, and love, these kittens learn to trust, play, and thrive indoors.

💪 Get Involved!
We’re always looking for passionate animal lovers to join our team. Help us make a difference by becoming a:
