Oh, Roo. If you’re looking for a cat who gives hugs, insists on being wherever you are, and never passes up a chance to play—Roo is your guy. We truly cannot stress enough just how much of a sweetheart he is. This is a cat who leads with love in everything he does.
Roo also happens to be one of the most resilient cats we’ve ever had the honor of knowing. He came to Misfits in critical condition and has since beaten the odds not once, but twice. Roo successfully overcame dry FIP, and later faced—and defeated—panleukopenia as well. His strength and will to live are nothing short of remarkable.
Roo does have a significant heart murmur, but at this time he is showing no signs of heart disease, and his initial cardiac testing came back normal. He’s currently feeling great and enjoying life to the fullest.
And one more very important detail—Roo has a best friend. His buddy Dwight is his favorite companion, and he would absolutely love to go home with him. Ever see a pairing where one partner is outgoing and bubbly, and the other looks like they’ve been dragged into the mischief? That’s Dwight. His signature scowl—aka his “I’m so over this” face—is absolute perfection.
Dwight’s favorite partner-in-crime is Roo. The two tumble, wrestle, and play together constantly—often taking turns knocking each other out of the cat bed before ultimately conceding to a cuddle. Dwight is patient, playful, and the perfect counterpart to Roo’s high-energy affection.
If you’re ready to welcome an incredibly affectionate, playful, and inspiring cat, Roo and his buddy Dwight are waiting to meet you. 🐾💖
Roo is an FIP survivor. FIP is a mutation of feline coronavirus that can happen in some cats who have lower immune systems or who have a genetic predisposition. There is no continued care required after treatment. Most cats have been exposed to feline coronavirus and only a small percentage will experience a mutation.
