This helps San Diego Humane Society - Oceanside Campus (Dogs) with pet care costs.
How this pet arrived:
Stella and Colita were brought in by their previous owner on January 3, 2025.
Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Colita! Colita is a sweet, sensitive girl who does best when she's allowed to move at her own pace. She's grown up around other dogs and people and may be vocal at first when noticing new faces or dogs, but often warms up once she feels comfortable. She appears most comfortable with dogs she came into care with, Stella (970507), and may do best adopted with one of them or a similarly compatible dog. Colita enjoys outdoor time to sniff and explore and does well on car rides-she may need a little boost getting in, but then happily settles in. At home, she may announce people walking by, but once visitors come inside, she often turns into a total lovebug. Colita may take time to warm up in a new home and should be given plenty of choice to interact or move away. Adopters should keep her world small at first and let her approach at her own terms. With patience, consistency, and understanding, Colita has the potential to blossom into a deeply loyal, affectionate companion.
Shy/Fearful Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.
