Luna was surrendered to the shelter with her brother, Loki, and while losing your home is never easy, this girl is choosing to cope the only way she knows how: by being an absolute pop princess.
Luna loves other dogs, thrives on playtime, and treats the outdoors like it’s her personal stage. Sunshine? Yes. Grass? Yes. Running around like she’s late to the chorus? Absolutely. Her missing leg does not slow her down—if anything, it adds to her main-character energy.
And the voice. Oh, the voice. Luna doesn’t just bark—she sings. She howls. She performs. She hits notes you didn’t ask for but will absolutely grow to love. It’s giving tour dates. It’s giving encore.
Playful, outgoing, and full of joy, Luna is the kind of dog who turns everyday moments into something fun. She’d do great in a home with another dog, a yard to explore, and people who appreciate a little drama, a lot of personality, and a girl who knows she’s special.More information? More about this shelter
Marion Area Humane Society is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization incorporated in 1967 under ORC 1717. We strive to educate, assist and protect the animals of the Marion area. Since 1986 have operated a shelter to provide a humane environment for homeless animals. In 2011 several generous donors and grants made it possible for a shelter renovation and addition of a separate intake section. MAHS operates a open-admissions shelter with a guilt and fee free surrender policy, to encourage owners who can not properly care or maintain proper living conditions for their pets to do the best thing for the pet. MAHS also provides humane investigations and a spay/neuter voucher program for Marion county.
