My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Moon is full of energy and ready to be your best friend! He loves new people and is super friendly with other dogs, too. He knows sit, is housebroken, and crate-trained. Moon loves to go to the dog park, but has never been around other cats before. He will definitely need some leash training to learn good manners on the leash, but he is super motivated with treats so we think it'll be an easy task.

Moon was surrendered at no fault of his own. His owner's parents were allergic to him, so he could no longer stay in the home.

More about this shelter

We are a no-kill, non-profit pet placement and adoption center located in Ontario, California.

We were established in 1954 as the Humane Society of Chaffey Community and it served as the local animal control for the surrounding areas. Roughly 40 years later, we adopted a no-kill policy as West End Shelter for Animals.

Sociable homeless cats and dogs are surrendered by owners who can no longer keep them for various reasons and they remain with us indefinitely until we find them a new home. The shelter can provide temporary homes for up to 200+ cats and dogs. In addition to working with pet owners, we rescue a number of cats and dogs from county shelters where they await euthanasia due to pet overpopulation.
