My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Kit Kat!

Kit Kat is a sweet 1-year-old girl weighing about 40 pounds who loves kids, other dogs, andmost importantlybelly rubs. Shes had a rough start in life, so shes looking for a patient, understanding family who will help her continue building confidence.

We think Kit Kat is a retriever mix, likely with some Lab and possibly a little hound sprinkled in. Whatever her mix, her personality is pure sweetness. She attended an adoption event and absolutely shinedshe did great in the busy store environment, knew how to sit on command, happily accepted treats, and was gentle and friendly with every child and dog she met.

Kit Kat can be a bit unsure when it comes to new spaces and getting in and out of the car, but once shes settled, she does wonderfully. She rides quietly, does well crated, or can calmly sit in the passenger seat. With consistency and reassurance, shell only continue to improve.

Kit Kat is ready for a loving home where she can feel safe, adored, and finally put her rough beginnings behind her.

Our adoption process takes several steps and cannot be completed in one day. All of our volunteers work full time and assist the rescue in their spare time. Please allow 2-3 business days for a response.

* Applicants must be willing to make a ten plus year commitment to their new family member.

* Applicants must commit to daily exercise, walks, trips to the dog park or play in the back yard. A well exercised dog is a happy well behaved dog!

* Applicants living in a rental property must provide proof of pet policy from landlord.

* Applicants must provide a veterinarian reference and if there are existing dogs in the household. All pets must be spayed/neutered and current on all shots and heartworm medication.

*Please allow at least a 7-14 day adjustment period for your new dog. Rescue dogs go thru a lot of changes and need a few days to get used to their new surroundings and adjust. Adopting a dog should be a serious commitment, so please be willing to work out the kinks. Our dogs aren't perfect but with proper training and guidance they make awesome, loving pets.

*Our adoption fees vary based on the age and medical needs of the dogs.
