This helps Coastal Pet Rescue with pet care costs.
Genie is a shy, sweet mature doxie mix who came to rescue with her three housemates after losing their home and owner to a house fire. One thing that's apparent about all of these girlies is that they have been generously overfed! Genie is now in foster and on a weight reduction diet to hopefully improve her overall health and long-term lifestyle. She also has some other minor skin and eye issues that are being treated as well. Genie is easy going and wonderful. She is a gentle, laid back girl that loves belly rubs and the soft pillow on YOUR bed! She does well with other dogs that respect her space, after slow introduction. She currently uses doggie door and doing well with house training. If you're not ready to relax, DON'T start petting her silky fur! She is a little shy at first until you earn her trust, then you will have a shadow! She enjoys the company of her foster mom, but is definitely a daddies girl!
Genie's eye and skin issues are chronic conditions which will require medication for the rest of her life. Potential adopters should plan to work with their vet to continue her daily eye and skin medications as prescribed.
