My name is Tiger, and Im a four-year-old boy trying to make sense of a world that changed very suddenly. I came to the shelter after my person passed away, and even though everyone here is kind, Im still confused and overwhelmed by all the noise, new faces, and unfamiliar routines. I tend to hang back when I meet someone new, watching quietly until I feel safe enough to take a small step forward.

But once I warm up, my gentle, affectionate side starts to show. I used to be a loving companion, and that part of me is still very much there-it just needs a little time and patience to come out again. Ive never lived with children, so a calm home would help me feel secure, but I did share my space with another cat before and did just fine.

I have a playful streak too. Give me a string toy or a laser pointer, and Ill happily chase it around. Im also a bit of a goofball when it comes to cozy spots-I love curling up in boxes, and if you leave a drawer open, dont be surprised if you find me tucked inside like its my own private den.

If youre looking for a sweet, sensitive companion who will reward your kindness with quiet affection and quirky charm, Im ready to start that next chapter with someone who understands me.

Please note that we operate by first come, first serve along with adoption approval. Wait times may vary depending on the time of week and day.
We are reserving Mondays and Tuesdays for appointments for members of the public who are immunocompromised or are still uncomfortable being in large crowds due to COVID-19.
If you have any questions about our adoptable pets, please call (913) 831-7722 or email adoptions@greatplainsspca.org. Our expert matchmakers look forward to finding you the perfect furry family member!
Adoption Requirements:
- Adopter must be 18 years of age or older.
- Adopters must complete a survey and present photo identification to meet any of our animals.
- For the safety and health of our animals, we do not ship pets.
- Pet adoption fees range from $60 to $350. Our adoption fees help to offset the cost of evaluation, housing, feeding and medical care for the thousands of animals needing our help. We do our best to keep our adoption prices reasonable while generating income to support our goal of caring for animals available for adoption until we can place them in a loving home. The adoption fee for each animal varies and is dependent on many factors including: age, size, behavior, medical condition, and public demand.
