Penny is approximately a two year-old German Shepherd and/or Belgian Malinois mix who had a hard start at life, fending for herself as a stray. She has transitioned to an indoor dog perfectly. She is house trained and crate trained, and has discovered the joy of sleeping in bed. She is a normal/medium energy level right now. This may increase as she gains some weight and resumes a normal body condition. Although she appears to be a working breed cross, she currently doesn't show any drives and would thrive in just an active pet home.
Penny listens very well, is very smart and a very quick learner! She did not get to enjoy puppyhood to the fullest, so she still has some puppy tendencies like jumping when excited that should be expected.
Penny is currently living with 6 other dogs ranging from 7-45lbs and is very dog friendly!

Adoption process:
Potential adopters complete our online application. From there, we contact them to continue the screening process including checking references, vet checks, and a personal phone interview. Upon completion, potential adopters are pre-approved.
From there, potential adopters are put in touch with the foster parent(s) of the dog they are interested in adopting. If a specific dog is not in mind, admins will make suggestions based on who we feel will be good candidates for their home. We take the foster's opinions into high consideration when determining ideal fit for an adoption.
Once the dog is determined to be a good fit for the adoptive home, the adopter is given advisement on decompression, training, safety gear, and future preventative vetting. The adoption contract is signed and adoption fee paid to finalize the adoption.
