My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pete and Midnight are a bonded pair of domestic shorthair cats that came to Murci's Mission when their prior family could no longer care for them. They have an estimated birthdate of 08/01/2019.

These kitties have lived a very loved life and have always been in a calm, low chaos home. They could tolerate living with children and pets who are peaceful and low energy. They would like a warm spot on the couch and a tasty treat now and then, but will otherwise need very little as they are easy going.

Both girls come spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. Their adoption fee as a pair is $50. To be considered to adopt, please begin by visiting www.murcismission.org and sending in an application.

Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
