Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Adoption Area: East Tennessee
Baby needs:
-Adult home or one with gentle children over eight years old
-A fenced yard or the ability to take baby for walks during the day
-No attached housing since I like to monitor things going by from the window
-Someone willing to help her lose another pound or two and to continue her medication and monitoring for Cushing’s disease
If you are looking for a sweet, loyal and easy dog, Baby who is a Chihuahua mix is your girl! Weighs around 14 pounds and is 12 years old. She has returned to the rescue through no fault of her own, her original adopters passed away. She is a lovely, sweet and a happy dog. She loves to go on walks, being outside or relaxing on the couch right beside you—whatever you want, she’s happy to just be beside her person.
Never want to go to the bathroom alone again? Here’s your dog! She will follow you often, wanting to be by your side, but remarkably never gets under foot. She prefers to sleep in the bed with her person, but will sleep in a crate or in her own bed beside your bed. She is not a huge ‘hugger’ or cuddler and won’t be a lap dog, but loves all the pets you can provide, and will tap you with her paw to let you know more petting is needed. She will bond with her person pretty quickly, but as time goes on, she gets even sweeter and sweeter as her trust develops. She has a playful side and will roll around, put her bum Iin the air and roll over for lots of belly rubs. She is a great watch dog! She will notice anything which isn’t usually there (delivery truck, people walking by the house, car pulling the driveway). She is not a problem barker but would probably not be good for attached housing.
She is friendly with all dogs and very patient with her foster’s younger rambunctious dogs, thought she doesn’t engage in play very often. She does not appear to be interested one way or another in cats, but this isn’t certain. She has been diagnosed and is being treated for Cushing’s disease. She will need an adopter who will continue her treatment, and get regular blood levels done of her cortisol at her annual vet visits. Cost of medication averages from $80-$110 per month depending on where purchased. She is housetrained and will need access to puppy pads due to increased urination from the Cushing’s.
She has had a dental and had 12 teeth removed but can still eat normally on her senior diet. She is a beautiful little girl, who is working on losing some weight, so her person will need to continue to work with her to lose a few more pounds for her optimal health. She absolutely loves walks and gets so excited when her halter and leash are presented. She loves being outside and would so enjoy sitting by your side on the back patio. She minds very well and wants to please her person, wagging her tail from just a glance from you. She does well when alone, with no separation anxiety. She rides well in the car in a crate. She can also be Snoopy and likes to sit on the top of the couch. If you want a sweet loyal dog who is so easy to be with, this loyal little girl is for you! Her adoption fee is $100.
