Meet Little Sparkles â¨
Little Sparkles is a true survivor with a heart as big as her name. She was found by volunteers during a trap-neuter-release effort in the New Caney area, and it was immediately clear she had been through more than any puppy should. Sparkles was suffering from a skull fracture, facial infections, severe flea infestation, and was starving and dehydrated.
Thanks to dedicated veterinary care and lots of love, Sparkles has come an incredibly long way. Her skull fracture did not require surgery, and the neurological deficits she initially showed have significantly improved. When she was first found, she could only walk in tight circles to the right and wouldn’t move her head to the left. Today, she walks, runs, and plays like a happy puppy.
Sparkles is now well-fed, well-hydrated, dewormed, flea-free, and thriving. One lasting result of her injuries is that she is both deaf and blind. Despite this, she is learning to navigate her world with confidence—especially by using her excellent little sniffer.
She is a very good girl: sweet, gentle, quiet (she doesn’t bark), and not overly rambunctious. Her favorite things include chewing on puppy toys and snuggling up with her two foster brothers.
Sparkles will need a very patient and understanding home, as caring for a dog who is both deaf and blind comes with unique challenges. She would do especially well in a home with other friendly dogs who can help guide her and give her confidence.
If you’re looking for a truly special soul and are ready to offer patience, love, and security, Little Sparkles will reward you with endless affection.
