I`m Hera, a dilute calico female cat, estimated to be about two years old. I was named for the Greek goddess of marriage, women, and birth--it seems I came by this name when I arrived at Animal Ark with eight kittens in tow. The kittens were of various ages, and they were obviously not all mine! We were all living on a rundown property in rural Minnesota where a man was trying his best to keep us safe and well-fed. We are collectively thankful that we made it to a shelter before catastrophe struck with the cold weather and snow. My motherly duties have been turned over to staff, so I`m well on my way to adapting to shelter life and appreciating the upgrade in my lifestyle. The folks here are showering me with love, great food, and boundless affection. My history with dogs and children is unknown but gradual introductions are the best way to introduce a new family member. Plan to stop at Animal Ark and introduce yourself!
