My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who’s ready to share their heart (and home) with this lovebug? 🐾 🩵

Wally is ready to win over a new family with his big heart and gentle soul. He’s a sweet 6-year-old, 65-pound brindle hound mix who loves nothing more than being close to his people. As long as he gets his two daily walks, he’s perfectly content to relax in his bed or curl up on the couch for cuddles, though he’s always up for hikes or backyard adventures on nice days.

Wally is an intelligent, eager-to-please boy who learns quickly and is highly motivated by praise and treats. He enjoys having a routine and thrives when he knows what to expect from his day.

Wally is a sensitive pup with a history of anxiety and resource guarding, which is well managed with affordable medication and his experience with professional training. He is living in a home with a new baby, but the increased noise and activity are stressful. Because of this, Wally would do best as the only pet in a calm, adult-only home with an experienced dog owner.

Wally is fully house-trained and can be left alone freely for many hours (though he would appreciate an afternoon potty break). He is up to date on vaccinations, heartworm negative, neutered, and microchipped. He is currently in Ardsley, NY, and supplies and detailed guidance will be provided to make his transition successful.

Wally has so much love to give and is ready to shine in a home where he can feel safe, understood, and at ease. If you’re interested in making Wally part of your family, please reach out to rehomewally@gmail.com to discuss next steps

More about this rescue

PupStarz Rescue is an animal welfare group committed to the rescue and rehabilitation of dogs and cats in public shelters at high risk of euthanasia, as well as those in danger of abuse. We are committed to rescuing as many animals as possible, saving over 4,500 dogs and cats since 2015.

PupStarz Rescue is a foster-based rescue, relying on fosters to open their homes and lives to our Animals. Animals in our care receive proper medical care, including alteration, vaccinations, and microchipping.

Following a thorough screening, our animals are placed in loving, responsible, committed forever homes. PupStarz Rescue ensures that adoptions are an appropriate match for both the animal and their new family by educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a furry companion into their lives.

We are committed to the welfare of our "Starz" beyond the adoption process. We maintain open communication with our adopters to ensure a smooth transition, and offer additional support such as positive training techniques.

Founded in 2015, PupStarz Rescue is a non-profit, 501(c)3, no-kill, animal rescue organization.
