Harlan can be a little skittish when he first lands in a new place or meets new people, but don’t let that fool you — he warms up quickly once he realizes you’re a friend (especially if snacks are involved). He’s incredibly curious and smart, the kind of cat who watches everything and figures it out fast… usually while narrating the process, because yes — Harlan is extremely vocal and has lots to say.
This guy is very food-motivated, which makes winning his heart (and training, if you’re into that!) pretty easy. He’s also a total social butterfly with other cats and needs a feline friend who can keep up with his endless kitten energy. Wrestling, chasing, and playtime are his love language. Respectful dogs are just fine, and he’d likely do fine with calm, cat-savvy kids who understand that slow movements are key — sudden motions might send him zooming for cover.
Once you start petting him, though? Game over. Harlan turns into a purr machine who absolutely loves being doted on. Move slowly, be patient, and you’ll be rewarded with a chatty, affectionate, playful companion who just wants a buddy to love and play hard with.
