My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Born December 2, 2021, Weight: 53 lbs, Medium to high prey drive.

Blossom is a beautiful black female Greyhound with a confident, independent spirit. She loves bursting into joyful zoomies in the backyard, then heading out for a nice
walk where she shows off her excellent leash manners. Blossom enjoys exploring new places and taking in all the sights and smells along the way. She’s food-motivated and eager to learn, which makes training both fun and
rewarding. If you’re looking for a clever, adventurous companion who also knows how to entertain herself, Blossom could be the perfect match for you.

Additional adoption info

In New South Wales, the greyhounds live with the owners, not in a crate at the track. With input of the dog's owner and evaluations done by professional trainers, we know a lot about the greyhound. The dogs are assessed, tested for prey drive (good with cats? good with small dogs?) and if the owner had children, the ages of the children are provided.

The dogs are vaccinated, desexed and evaluated by a vet at intake and again days before flight. The Aussie Mates in the States team completes the necessary import paperwork, coordinates flight information and make sure the dogs are cared for every step of the way of their journey.

More about this rescue

Since Mach 2024, we have welcomed over 160 greyhounds from the Aussie Mates in the States rehoming program located in Sydney, New South Wales.

Greyhound Welfare is first and foremost when racing in New South Wales. In fact, the organization funds a domestic and international rehoming program to assist with finding retired racers a forever home.

Combine with our many years of experience with placing US greyhound and the care and commitment of the Aussie's Mates in the State team, you'll adopt a wonderful greyhound with ongoing support.
