My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Cat Whisperer Wanted!

Are you the one that cats flock to in every home you visit? Are you excellent with cat body language? Are you the kind of person that finds deep satisfaction in gaining the trust of a fearful kitty? If so, Zenobia might just be the cat for you.

Beautiful one and a half year old Zenobia loved her human, only to be dropped off at a shelter with her babies when her caretaker fell too ill to care for her any longer. She transferred to a quiet foster home where it took a long time for her to open up and begin to trust again. Now that she's healthy, spayed and her kittens are off to their forever homes, it's Zenobia's turn to find love. She can be chatty, especially around mealtime, and loves a good butt scratch. She really leans into a cheek scratch and you will be rewarded with deep purrs. Her previous family described her as very loving, and we're sure she can get there again with time to fall in love with a new family.

Zenobia will thrive in a quieter home with very patient, cat-savvy humans. She has previously lived with other kitties and seems very curious about the cats in her foster home, and a friendly confident kitty could be a really good companion for her. While in foster care, she has had no exposure to dogs - so it is unknown how she'll react to a home with dogs. If they're calm and uninterested, dogs could be fine. Calm, older kids who are used to cats could be a good fit for her. Zenobia will come with an extended trial period, in order to give her plenty of time to decompress before finalizing an adoption.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with age-appropriate vaccinations. Young cats have an adoption fee of $175. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.
