My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hoots the gentlemanly terrier looks like a rough-hewn deputy sheriff doing his best to bring order to a Wild West town. Serious, patient, and sporting a very handsome mustache, he’s a salt-and-pepper senior with energy for robust mingling with fellow dogs, daily walkies, and all the scritches any available human can muster. Seriously. He will lean into a pet on the ear and take it all the way to the floor for a tum rub before you know what’s up. Our boy doesn’t climb stairs, but he can find a way into your list of basic needs without trying. Fortunately, he asks for very little in return – just some peace, love and understanding. And treats. Got them? Come and get him!

Here's some notes from his foster:

Hoots is a deep, kind older dog who has obviously lived a long life with a lot of various experiences and interactions of every type, both good and challenging. He is very appreciative and loving toward his human foster and has blossomed in a home environment. He is steadier physically and his inquisitive engaging personality is emerging more daily. I see how bright and clear his eyes are after just a week and it is amazing! Hoots will make you smile.
