Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Jax! This gorgeous girl is just over four years old and has seriously the softest fur. But you can`t just walk in and pet her (and the stomach is completely off-limits)! First, she must decide that she trusts you, and the best way to earn her trust is by giving her time and being patient while she explores her new abode. Once you`ve made it on the VIP list, Jax is an affectionate gal who will regularly do figure 8`s around your legs while she looks up at you with the most gorgeous eyes you`ve ever seen. She greets those in her inner circle with purrs, headbumps, twining around ankles, and sitting somewhere up high nearby so she can keep an eye on her friends in between naps.
Jax has the prettiest tortoiseshell fur colors, beautiful amber eyes (that always look just a little concerned), and little white `boots` on her front paws! Jax’s previous family said that she`s afraid of loud noises and strangers, which she has shown to be true. However, she has also shown the potential to relax with new people and in new places if given the time. Anyone interested in adopting Jax should be ready to provide her ample time to settle into a new home and respect her space.
If you`d like to meet our available pets, please check the `shelter information` box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
