My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Our Sweet Girl Speckles! 💙
This beautiful 2-year-old blue heeler has found herself back at our shelter through absolutely no fault of her own, and she's ready to find her forever home.
She's got everything you could want in a companion: a heart full of love, energy for days, and a passion for treats that makes training a breeze! This food-motivated girl is eager to learn and bond with her person.
What makes her special:
Loves people and has so much affection to give
Cat-friendly!
Can do well with other dogs when given proper introductions
Smart and trainable (especially with snacks involved!)
Perfect for an active family or individual
This sweet heeler is looking for someone who can match her energy and give her the active lifestyle she craves. Whether it's hiking, running, playing fetch, or learning new tricks, she's ready to be your adventure buddy.
She deserves a second chance at the happy ending she's been waiting for. Could that be with you?
Speckles has been spayed, microchipped and current on all vaccines and preventative.
You can apply to adopt Speckles by visiting www.pawspets.org/dog-application.

More about this shelter

The Paris Animal Welfare Society (P.A.W.S.) is a private 501(c)3 organization, established in 1992, which runs an animal shelter located in beautiful Paris, Kentucky. As a private organization, we are solely dependent on private donations and community support.

Our mission is to save and protect homeless animals through responsible adoptions, to provide humane care for all animals entrusted to us, to advocate for animal welfare, and to enhance the human-animal bond by promoting healthy relationships between pets and people in our community.

P.A.W.S. serves mainly Bourbon County, taking in stray animals and those relinquished by their owners. We are managed admission, which means we take in by appointment. Despite being a small organization, we took in almost 1700 animals in 2015. At P.A.W.S., we do not euthanize healthy adoptable animals.
