My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Josie ??
Josie is estimated to be around 2 years old and is a sweet, gentle girl with a heart of gold. She does well with cats and already knows her name. What she truly shines at, though, is her excellent leash manners—Josie listens very well and enjoys her walks.
She’s a smart pup who already knows how to sit, shake, and lay down, and she’s eager to keep learning. Josie is currently working on gaining some healthy weight, and she’s doing great with extra love, care, and good meals.
When meeting new people, Josie can be a little shy at first, but don’t let that fool you. Once she warms up, her gentle and loving personality starts to shine through. With a little patience and reassurance, she becomes a loyal and affectionate companion.
Josie would do best in a home that understands her soft nature and is willing to give her the time she needs to feel safe and confident. In return, she’ll reward you with devotion, sweetness, and a very good girl by your side. ????. Her adoption fee is $54.00, that includes a 2026 Holmes county license, she has had a 7 way vaccine and Bordetella vaccine, a microchip, and she comes with treats toys, a collar and leash!

More about this shelter

We are a county operated facility and agency. We receive our funding through dog license sales. We are responsible for picking up strays in our county. Many of these strays later go up for adoption and become our responsibility to rehome. We also take owner surrrenders and attempt to rehome them.
