My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Oso was brought in by their previous owner on 1/8/2026.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Oso, a handsome fellow who is looking for a patient and loving home where he can truly shine. While he can be a bit fearful in new situations, Oso has already shown great progress, with his nerves decreasing as he gets comfortable and starts showing his sweet, social side to staff.
Oso just needs a little extra time to adjust to new people and surroundings at his own pace. If you have a calm environment and a heart full of patience, Oso is ready to reward your kindness with loyalty as he continues to build his confidence and find his footing in the world.

At SDHS:
Oso has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Oso is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
