Adopt Boomer—The big, happy Pyr youngster! Boomer is an innocent boy with a heart full of joy, and a tail that never stops wagging! This playful pup loves tug-of-war with his blankets and enjoys running around with his dog friends. He’s catching on quickly to leash walking and is very food motivated—he learned “sit” in just three tries with a treat! Boomer has a medium activity level and thrives on playtime, exploration, and companionship. He appears to be housebroken, keeps his area clean, and is learning to love his crate—especially when it’s filled with chew toys to keep him entertained. He’s quiet, patient, and always waits for permission before coming out. When Boomer was initially introduced to the resident cats, he was shy but now greets them politely before moving on. He’s friendly with everyone he meets, offering smiles and tail wags to all—he’s never met a stranger! While he can be rambunctious and curious, older children are a great fit for his energy. Boomer prefers outdoor adventures but is learning to be comfortable inside. He’s ready for car rides, and stands calmly for brushing and nail trims. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority.
