My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Little Mac!

Little Mac may be low to the ground, but his love for his people is sky-high. This short-legged superstar is loyal to his people and will happily be your tiny shadow once he knows you’re part of his inner circle. New people and dogs make him a bit suspicious at first, so slow introductions are a must - think treats, sitting down, and letting Mac approach at his own pace. Once he decides you’re cool, you’re really cool. He’s not recommended for a home with kids under the age of 12.

Mac has successfully made dog friends in his foster home, but he prefers a “let’s walk it out first” approach — going on walks together and meeting through a gate for a day or so before committing to friendship. He can be protective of his people and food with other dogs, but he listens well to corrections and continues to improve with consistency. Because of his strong opinions, he’s not a fan of cats or small animals.

This pint-sized explorer loves going on walks, does okay in the car (child lock required — he’s got places to be), and is comfortable in a crate or large enclosure when his people are away. He can be vocal at first when his people leave, so apartment living may not be ideal. He’s been doing great free in the house, though he may need a belly band at first while he gets used to new smells and spaces — he’s been accident-free for months in his foster home. Reach out to meet him today!

Additional adoption info

Adoption Process
We have an open adoption policy, so there is no application or interview process. We simply ask that you meet the pet in person before adoption. We have adoption specialists that will help you find the right pet for your family.

Adoption Center
The Adoption Center is located at 7500 N. Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73116. Our Adoption Center is a totally new concept in Oklahoma City where dogs have comfortable, expanded kennels and cats stay in “living rooms” with furniture and toys.

Pets by Appointment
Some amazing dogs get stressed out in a kennel environment like our Adoption Center, and much prefer staying at their foster home until they find their new family. If you see a dog on our website that says “E-Mail to Meet Me” that means that this furry friend is just a click away from getting a ride to the Adoption Center to meet you in person.

Adoption Fees
Adult dogs are $150 to adopt, puppies are $200 to adopt, adult cats are $75 to adopt and kittens are $95 to adopt. All of our pets are microchipped, spayed or neutered, treated with all age-appropriate vaccinations and flea, tick, and heartworm preventative prior to being cleared for adoption, so we put a lot of effort and monetary investment into each of our animals including a two-week quarantine period in a foster home. These adoption fees help cover the costs of our animals’ health and well-being!
