My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! My name is Blackberry, and I’m a 6-month-old sleek black kitten with a soft coat and a gentle heart. I might be a tiny bit shy when we first meet, but give me a moment and you’ll see my sweet side shine through.

Once I feel safe, I’ll happily ask you for head rubs, they’re my favorite! I also love giving butt rubs (that’s my special way of saying I like you). I’m still figuring out how I feel about being held, so I’ll need a patient human who lets me go at my own pace. With time and trust, I know I’ll keep getting braver every day.

If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate companion who just needs a little understanding and a lot of love, I might be your perfect match. Adopt me today!

More about this shelter

The Oahu SPCA was founded in April of 2009 and launched its mission, "Every healthy, treatable animal will find a forever home." The overwhelming support of community members was instrumental in helping to establish the first animal shelter in the state of Hawaii with a "no-kill philosophy." On July 18, 2009, 432 animals were relinquished to the Oahu SPCA the Largest Animal Rescue in the history of Hawaii. The Oahu SPCA rescued all 432 animals in 48 hours after the owner of an animal sanctuary in Waianae passes away.
